- 13. Setting up Microsoft Outlook
Setting up Mail with Microsoft Outlook:
1. After loading Outlook, choose Tools... --> Services ...
2. Click add, and choose Internet E-Mail. Click OK.
3. In the General tab of the email Properties dialog box, fill in your personal information.
4. Click on the Servers tab, and fill in the server information. "Incoming mail POP3 server" is mail.yourdomain.com. Substitute YOUR domain name where yourdomain.com is shown here. The Outgoing Mail (SMTP) can either be the same (mail.yourdomain.com) or it can be the SMTP server that belongs to your ISP (see http://support.metapros.net/faq/10.13.html).
Put in your MAILBOX name in the account name field, and the password that was entered for that mailbox. Enter only the mailbox name (i.e. "webmaster") and not the full email address. If you're not sure of the mailbox name or the password, visit the "Mail Manager" section of your hosting account's Account Manager.
Click OK.
5. Your new settings will not take effect until you choose Exit and Log off on the File menu, and then restart Microsoft Outlook.
