WebMail - browser based emailing

1. WebMail and account disk space issues

Because Webmail must have free working space, WebMail may not work properly when the hosting account is very near or over it's disk space quota.

The amount of used and free disk space for the account is shown at the hosting account's online Account Manager.

A common problem is allowing email to accumulate on the server until the disk space quota is filled. In this case, WebMail may not be used to clear the offending mailbox. To remedy the situation, you may try any of the following...

- Use email software on your PC such as Outlook Express to connect to the mailbox via POP and retrieve all of the messages from the server.

- Use the File Manager or connect to the site via FTP and delete unneeded files from the account until the account is not over the quota.

- Using the File Manager or FTP, go to the *-mail directory and DELETE the mailbox's holding file. This will permanently delete all messages being held on the server.

- Delete accumulated STATS from the account to free disk space. More info can be found here.. http://support.metapros.net/faq/18.html

- Upgrade the hosting account to a plan that better suits your needs. (Look for the 'Upgrade' icon in your Account Manager).

SUGGESTIONS:

- Do not let the account's disk space usage hit the quota. More info can be found here.. http://support.metapros.net/faq/24.3.html

- When using Webmail to clear unneeded messages from your mailbox, keep in mind that moving messages to the 'Trash' folder DOES NOT remove the messages from the server. Use '-DELETE-' to do that.
