HOME: File Manager
The File Manager is a component of the the Account Manager used to manage the files and directories at your site.


1. What are file permissions?

On the directory listing screen:
d = directory
-rwx------ = owner permissions
----rwx--- = group permissions
-------rwx = others permissions
--- = no permission
r-- = read permission
-w- = write permission
--x = execute permission

Select the "permission" link on the left side of a file or directory to change the permissions. This will open a new window:

In general,
- pages should be readable/writable by you (owner), readable/writable by your group, and readable by the web visitor (others).
- scripts should be readable/writable/executable by you (owner), readable/writable by your group, and readable/executable by the web visitor (others).
- data-config files should be readable/writable by you (owner), readable/writable by your group.
