4. Can I have my own copy of formmail.pl on my site?

Versions of FormMail prior to v1.92, including the very popular version 1.6, are not secure. These older versions of the FormMail script have many security holes that allow spammers to use the script to send their messages to other parties.

Please be aware that hosting clients that install these unsecure versions of FormMail (or any other unsecure form-to-email scripts) may have the scripts disabled or removed from the account.

We recommend you use the secure server-provided FormMail script or upgrade immediately!
