ASP and Microsoft Access database

Microsoft Access, a DESKTOP database, works only on Microsoft Windows based servers. It will not run on Unix servers even with ChiliSoft ASP.

Please note that Microsoft Corporation strongly states that Microsoft Access should only be used to prototype databases, and not be used for live web sites.

Sun Microsystems provides an Access-to-MySQL database conversion tool that can be used on a Windows PC. Details here..

To implement this, you will need the MySQL server installed locally (download for free here: http://www.mysql.com). Do the conversion on your PC, dump the database and move the data to the hosting account database.
